Hey,
Today, I realized a typing error, where I incorrectly labeled the amount of credit hours on a course in my AMCAS Application that was verified in early June. I sent in the Academic Change Request today, and I am waiting for AMCAS' response to see if it will be corrected in what will be at least five business days.
Now, I am wondering if I should notify the medical schools I had already sent secondary applications to as well before I am informed of the decision of the request? From what I understand, if the request is accepted, then all the medical schools will be updated immediately. But, I am still concerned if there are some medical schools currently reviewing the secondary application that I have submitted and would find the error without the fix. I am considering to e-mail/phone these medical schools tomorrow to inform them of this mistake before I learn of the results of the Academic Change Request.
Should I wait for the pending decision on the Academic Change Request or e-mail/phone these medical schools tomorrow morning? Is there a negative to e-mailing/phoning these institutions of this issue before the Academic Change Request is accepted or denied? An additional concern I have is that this could affect where I am in the application que. Is this a warranted concern? And, yes, I will notify each medical school immediately of this error if the Academic Change Request is denied.
Thank you for all of your insight and help!
