Hey guys,
So my AMCAS app was recently verified, and THEN I realize that there are a number of classes that I should have listed as BIO/CHEM/etc. I sent AAMC an e-mail today explaining the situation and details of classes who's classification I wanted changed and to update my BCPM. My question is, since the app is verified and "made available to designated schools", should they change the courses and update the GPA, how will the schools know about the updated BCPM (which should be fairly significant)? Will I have to contact each school directly (20 schools) to let them know of the change or is it early enough in the app process that they won't even know it happened? Thanks for any insight in the issue. Good luck with the apps!

Schools will download an updated copy of your application automatically.

Thanks Zip! However, does that mean that if they have already seen my app and decided to discard it, do they get "bumped" into looking at it again with all the updates? Cheers!

how did you decide that certain classes would be classified as bcpm after you submitted? what changed?

I saw what my AMCAS-verified GPA looked like and thought something was a little off. Then reading some threads here about biopsych and neurosciences made me rethink my classifications. I had about 5 neuroscience classes that dealt exclusively with biochem, physiology, and anatomy, and a couple of general science classes that really were physics but not the kind that would satisfy pre-reqs, but physics nonetheless. I was focusing too much on my post-bacc classes to satisfy the science requirements without thinking about non pre-med classes from undergrad. Very stupid of me...so I'm trying to fix that. Cheers

same here. i was verified on friday and i sent off an academic change email to AMCAS to have them update the credit of some courses that i specifically took for their science credit as indicated on the course catalogs. i hope the delay isn't too bad...
