I input the semesters chronilogically. However, it lists them in this order:
2001: S1
2002: S1
2002: S2
2003: S1
2003: S2
2004: S1
2004: S2
2005: S2

So this basically intermixes my semesters (freshman semester, followed by sophomore semester, followed by freshman semester, etc). Did this happen to anyone else? How do I fix this?

It does this for everyone. Don't worry. Your GPA will still be correct when it is shown separated by year. In fact, use the year separations to confirm that AMCAS calculated it correctly.

I had some similar concerns with semester chronology last year with my AMCAS application. I don't remember if my order was exactly like yours, but the order in which they listed my classes did not coincide with the actual order in which I took the classes. I called AMCAS to clarify, they gave me some weird explanation of their semester accounting system saying that at times everything does not match up, but assured me not to worry... it is just their system. Anyway, I would advise you the same, do not stress too much, but give them a call anyway just to be on the safe side. Good luck with the application process!!

Trek,

My Amcas last year had out of order semesters as well. It really blew it on summer classes... It didnt cause any trouble for me in the app process.

Good luck.

Exception
Only applicants who have taken courses during the winter term in a trimester/quarter system in which the winter term begins in January will experience this issue. The application operates on the basis that winter courses in a trimester/quarter system begin in December; as such, after translation occurs, these courses will have the same academic year as calendar year, even though the correct academic year is the previous one.

? Example: A winter trimester course beginning in January 2002 will be listed in the application with an academic year of 2002 (2002-2003). The correct academic year is 2001.

? Solution: A course beginning in January 2002 should be entered as though it began in December 2001, in order to reflect a correct academic year of 2001.
