So, if you were accepted into a university early after applying as a freshman in high school...

and then left for college the very next year instead of taking a sophomore high school year...

and then used college courses to satisfy high school requirements, so you got your high school diploma as a sophomore or junior in college...

Would you just write down every course as high school level on AMCAS until the date you graduated high school?

(This situation makes me nervous because I think I'm likely to get wrong information from whoever picks up the phone at AMCAS. I would feel much better if a few people on here responded and then AMCAS had an answer that matched what I already heard. I am also doing my application right now and it would just be better to get it right the first time.)

What was your high school graduation date? Everything before and up to that is usually counted as HS, even if it equates to over a year of full-time coursework (Meaning you might have 60 credits in the HS column.) And again yes, even if taken physically at the college. The only thing that would make it confusing is if your college technically classified you as a freshman before your HS graduation date, which is unlikely, even if you think they did. Most colleges will classify you as "Dually Enrolled" or "Early College" and then after graduating HS, regardless of your credit amount, you are a freshman. I was a freshman with quite a bit of college work under my belt.

The best thing for you to do would be to order a transcript from both you HS and your College and see what it classifies you as during the terms you took those courses. If there is a discrepancy (Such as counting you as a freshman from your first term,) which I doubt there will be, then there will be a little more to figure out.

**You can usually order an "unofficial transcript" online from your school and view it instantly

Since dual enrollment courses taken in high school count as college, it sounds like this will. Call AMCAS. Do whatever's safest.

I think the easiest thing, in the future, is to figure out how the college classified you at that time. Were you a 4-year degree seeking student, or were you something else? (Dual enrolled, advanced high school, etc.) Was it a well-established alternative high school option, or something you and your parents hacked out yourselves?

If 4-year degree seeking, then put college. If it was an established alternative HS program, I'd keep it as college courses during HS.

It's not likely to affect things too much, as those courses usually still count toward your college GPA.
