I was wondering if most people use all 5300 characters when preparing their personal statement. I am only half way there, and now it seems that anything else I add is phoney sounding and not informative. I have avoided making it an autobiography and was focused on what in my background makes me a strong candidate for medical school. I really am fiding it tough to answer the question: Why medicine and not a teacher...etc...nothing else has ever crossed my mind and I just find medicine challenging and exciting. I don't have a life turning moment that steared me toward medicine. Grrr...grr...I wish i had this thing in the mail...lol

Well the 5300 AMCAS personal statement questions are usually on the pre-allo forum... but I guess I can answer you. I submitted only AACOMAS and it allows only 3000 characters, mine was something like 2600 so you don't need to fill out all of it. It's quality - NOT quantity. So leave out the BS and submit a genuine statement.
