I only requested my transcripts from my universities last week, so I definitely would not anticipate that AMCAS would have received them already. I am just wondering how long in generally takes. If I still keep seeing "waiting on transcripts," at what point would it be a good idea to resend?

It depends on how long your school takes to send it. May-June is usually really busy for the transcript office as a lot of people are requesting transcripts. When you go to the AMCAS login page, it should say something like "AMCAS is now processing transcripts received on [date]," and that date is dependent on your undergrad school's registrar office.

Depending on the time in the application cycle, it can take quite a while. I wouldn't worry until another week or two.

1. There's a lag time at your school between requesting the transcript and having it actually sent out in the mail (sometimes 1 or 2 weeks if they're slow about things/busy).
2. If it's sent in the regular mail, that can take a few days to a couple weeks, sometimes.
3. Then there is a lag time between when it arrives to AMCAS and when they actually check it off as received.

it takes time for the school to receive your submission
then they have to process it and send your transcript out
then it travels by mail to amcas
it's processed then you get an email

for example, i sent nyu a transcript request by mail on june 13th or so
they sent it out june 16th
amcas received it june 20th
they emailed me saying that they got it on the 23rd
