I know I have read it before about the activities section if you start new paragraphs and you print app, the formatting is all messed up, but I cannot find the thread. Can anyone tell me how did you fix that or link me to the thread plz?
Thanks

i didnt see the thread, but if you go to "print application" on the main screen you will see it exactly as it will appear. take it from there.

Ya, but when I go to "print app" it has wierd formatting for line breaks, so how do you fix it? Thanks

yeah i don't know what to do about that, you could just put in a bunch of line breaks until the paragraph finally goes to the next line. you could also try html tags, <br> or <p> would do the trick if amcas understands html. I haven't actually tried this so maybe someone else would explain it better.

If you paste your wording into Notepad, you can format there, however, new paragraphs and the first indent are lost, always. New paragraphs show as a larger than normal spacing before a new sentence. It is not possible to have multiple paragraphs in the EC's, from what I have experienced, read and determined.

Umm, so do you merge your paragraphs os literary give spaces till it goes on to next line?

Hey guys,
I am having this problem (which I understand from researching the Internet is common) as well as another one that is much more baffling and I have no idea what to do if AAMC will be unresponsive.

1. My paragraphs are showing as indents in the work/activities section -> this is the common problem but not critical.

2. My essays were copied from Word to notepad and then to AMCAS. My essays appeared fine everywhere, both in editing and the essay section summary, as well as on the PDF application report before submitting, so I had no way to suspect anything was wrong.
===> After submitting, in the essay section summay, two of my essays lost all pargraph formatting and they appear as one big paragraph each. The third appears fine. The even stranger thing is, when I print a new PDF application report, all essays appear fine.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any advice!

P.S. I won't let AAMC take $600 from me after countless hours of work just to have my essays show up like this... so I will also update here what I find out from the AAMC regarding this.

I can't help you on the second one, if they showed up on the PDF as looking normal I don't know what to say.

For your first question, I don't believe anyone has successfully been able to make paragraphs in the work/activities section (I couldn't either), so I'd recommend just making each one into one big paragraph so you avoid any possible formatting problems.

The work/activities section really doesn't need paragraphs. I pretty much maxed out my character limits for each activity description and when printed out in PDF, they looked just fine as one paragraph. Basically, either they should look like a few short sentences if being brief, or like a one-parapgraph abstract if using all of your characters.
