hey guys as the title suggests i am an american arab muslim. I am a second generation. Now i know most people say that arabs are over represented in their communities but can someone just tell me this. Now don't get me wrong but if uve seen the news in the past few years arab/muslim makes you so unpopular to the point where u will be confronted by people who blame u for things others have committed. we are extremely disliked is a nice way of putting it. do adcoms consider this at all? the reason I ask is cause im afraid some admissions review board may see my name link im muslim and just right me off a rejection. is this worry at all warranted? sorry if i sound like im insinuating anything because thats not the intention.

Your worries are unwarranted. There are many Muslim medical students including students that wear a head covering.

Ok that puts my mind at ease, thank you for your response jsut some people around me have made me a bit paranoid is all.

I know multiple Muslims who have made it to medical school, pharmacy school and dental school. That type of prejudice is not only unwarranted it is illegal. Nobody can just deny you admission based upon your name. There would be huge lawsuit implications if someone could prove that your religion kept you from being considered for admission to a school.

Chill, you're fine 🙂
