To anyone whose taken the DAT,

Do you think it's necessary to memorize the structures of the 20 amino acids? I've had to do it twice before for classes, but, not surprisingly they didn't all stick. So far I haven't come across any questions that have required it, but what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance,
Jess

The only thing you need to take away from this is that some AA are positively charged at certain pH's some are negatively charged, and some are neutral -- know how this works. Also AA with charged side chains will have extra buffer regions in a titration. 🙂

Thanks everyone for getting back to me so quickly. And those were the answers I wanted to hear too!
