In just 2 weeks I'm off to UPitt for an interview on the 10th of Feb, then after the interview I leave for Boston. I have my Boston U interview on the 11th and then Tufts on the 12th.
Any words of encouragment for any of these schools?!?

JoJo,

I didn't apply to any of those schools, so I can't help you explicitly. I DO know that you will have a blast, and that by the time the final interview rolls around, you will be a pro.

Congrats on garnishing so many interviews!

Hey JoJo,

I'll be there on the 10th as well!

Good luck, JOJO

I wish I had applied to Pitt, I heard some great stuff about their program. Relax for Tufts just getting an interview means that they want you. I think there is an 85% acceptance rate if you get an interview.

Make sure you talk to students who aren't part of the "interview" like those who are working in labs, or eating lunch. Everyone who is involved with the interview are gonna rave about their school, so go out and spend some time talking to students who are not part of the tour group or orientation. It will help you realize what the school is really like.

I wish you the best.

Thanks for the words guys...

Desi:
Does having an interview at Tufts really mean I have an 85% chance of getting in there? Did you interview there? How did you like the school-I hear it's like the top 3rd school in the country.
I've seen your posts on BU, but is it really that bad?
JOJO

jojo,

Yes, Tufts has a rigid screening process prior to interviewing so if you get an interview they are pretty serious about you. Also, Tufts is one of the best dental schools in the country. I did not interview at Tufts since my interview letter came after Dec. 2 and I already got accepted to PENN. However, I've only heard good things about it except (money and location, blah blah). Everyone of my friends was very impressed, and I think you will be too.

Good Luck,

I heard that at Tufts, if patients don't pay, students will have to pay. In short, you do your own collection, running after your patients like real life.

BU is extremely relaxed also. You arrive around 8:30 and sit in a room. You have a light breakfast, introduce yourself to the other applicants and then go on a tour. By 11 you're back in the same room you started in and the interview process begins. They ask very basic questions such as why dentistry, what are your strengths and weaknesses and what do you like to do for fun. Lastly you have lunch with 2 4th year students in the same room.
