An in state applicant can't absolutely go by ADEA published DAT/GPA stats?

I have a question about statistics in ADEA Office Guide to Dental Schools.

My question is about state schools with a large % OOS applicants and a large % of enrollees that are OOS. Like University of Maryland. The class size is 130. 70 are Maryland residents. 60 are Out of State. Out of state people make up 45% of the class!

Let's take a look at this as an example....

MARYLAND:

Applicants Out of state: 2564
Enrolled Out of state: 60
Out of state applicant/enrollee %: 2.3%

Applicants In state: 199
Enrolled in state: 70
In state applicant/enrollee %: 35.2%

Total Number of Enrollees: 130
All Enrollee Average Overall GPA: 3.60
All Enrollee Average Science GPA: 3.50
All Enrollee AA DAT: 20
All Enrollee Average PAT: 20

I would say the 60 OOS enrollees are significantly driving up the GPA/DAT averages because only 2.3% are selected. That 2.3% probably has very high stats right?

I would like to know the GPA/DAT statistics of in state applicants and enrollees.

Can an in state applicant really go by these statistics then?

there are other factors... for example, that 2.3%, those are the "big guns" of the DAT+GPA department, chances are, theyr gonna get accepted to multiple schools and Maryland (unless for sentimental reasons) won't be their #1.

Although you see 60 OOS being admitted, the more realistic number is... 150+ being accepted (the other 90 rejecting the offer)

So your answer is... these OOS people ARE significantly driving up the GPA/DAT then?

significantly? doubt it....but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a slight difference.
Like the in-state folks would have an average of 3.5, but the OOS be something like 3.65 (just making up numbers)
