I keep getting the anatomy and the histology questions wrong on qbanks so I was deciding debating on doing a few chapters from HY Anatomy and BRS Histology for two days. However I'm not sure which topics are HY. So far my plan is the following:

Anatomy:
-Pelvis and Abdomen
-Upper and Lower Limbs

Hisotology
- Respiratory
-GIT
- Reproductive

What should I add/eliminate?

I think my school is just psycho when it comes to those subjects...but they don't seem very important/FA has been sufficient for me. There are only 16 histo questions for Uworld...I think having a good handle on path would be a better use of your energy. I have Anatomy HY and plan to use it mainly for the pictures and radio images. Try taking a look at how many questions there are for each system if you need a better gauge on what specific sections you should read up on in those 2 subjects. I used RR Histo to study for the NBME my school required last year...I figured I'd be using it again for step, but from all the qbank questions I've done thus far it seems way too detailed.

Thanks that is great advice and I really need to do that for other topics especially in Path as I seem to be giving too much weight to topics that only have a few questions in the qbanks.

To be honest, if you feel your anatomy and histology are lacking, I would tackle the following resources:

For anatomy, Underground Clinical Vignettes - Anatomy was FANTASTIC. It's an incredibly affable read and takes about 5 hours to finish (~10 to appreciate).

For histology, I would actually just know the *verbal descriptions* of the histological findings that are in BRS Pathology. I haven't particularly studied histo images and my school's program doesn't stress this topic too much, but when I see an image in QBank, I've found that the descriptions I've come across in BRS Path have helped me figure out pretty much all of them. I also just think repetition is good here too. FA actually has a lot of what you need, in words, to help you interpret a histologic slide.

I wouldn't waste your time on anatomy / histology resources external to BRS Path, UCV-Anatomy, FA and the QBanks.

Of course this all comes down to personal preference and to each his or her own, but in terms of HY-points, that's my input.
