So im thinking of taking anatomy and physiology, but to take bio 305 (a&p 2) I need to take bio 105 (A&p 1). I am a junior so I know I need to focus on upper level classes, so I am not sure if that's ok. I am taking physics 2, biochemistry and a psych. class so would that be fine? I would have to take anatomy 2 next fall and anatomy 1 this winter semester. I am also studying for the MCAT and I have been since July. I am planning on taking it in April of 2020, so I don't want too many hard classes that aren't relevant for the MCAT. What do you guys think?

My A&P classes helped on the MCAT - not to the extent that gen bio classes did, but it did help. Some schools require 1-2 semesters of A&P (very few schools though). I don't think it is an issue that you are taking a 100 level class during Junior year.

I'm not sure how your A&P classes are broken up (weird once is 105 and one 305, most are sequentially numbered). For me, A&P1 was one of the hardest classes I took, spelling counted - 1 letter wrong = wrong, I was spending 10-15 hours a week on just the lab. A&P2 was significantly easier, with maybe 1 hour a week studying.

It's hard to really say what it will be like, as we are all different. Perhaps getting some insight from students at your school that have taken those classes would be helpful, or at least talk to an advisor.

I second getting insight from students and checking rate my professor. I loved both semesters of A&P. It was probably my favorite class that I’ve ever taken. It just made everything a lot more real. I was finally learning why all the biology, chemistry, and physics actually mattered. I’d recommend it based on the professors. Not the end of the world if it doesn’t work out. You’ll do it in med school.

A&P is a class that ties in concepts from other sciences course, so it can help you with the MCAT. However, depending on the college and who's teaching it, it can either be a cake-walk or hell on Earth. Definitely do your research before signing up for it.
