Hey everyone,

I've really been struggling with Anatomy Lab scoring in the low 60s on practicals. I need advice on how to improve my scores. For my last practical I used Anki's overlapping option to remember parts of the heart for example but this is was an bad idea as I could see other parts of the heart. I think I had changed the settings to a more sequential order this hurt me because they would pick like 2 random parts on each side of the heart and I wasn't able to recall. I'm thinking I should use nonoverlapping so I cant see the other parts of the picture. I'm doing well in the actual class but the practical part of anatomy which is straight recall is killing me. I'm not sure of anyone else's med school but do you guys write out each answer? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I had a similar problem while I was taking gross anatomy in graduate school. Best way to do better on practicals is spend as much time as you can in the cadaver lab retracing the dissector and physically finding things on the body. Also grab a partner and practice finding tags while being timed. Repetition repetition repetition is the only thing that works for straight recall, at least for me it was.

Get in lab. Spend time in lab. Grab a list of structures and find all of them.
