Volunteering for a suicide hotline. What type of experience would that be listed as?

And would that be a good experience for Premed?

I am thinking the answer is yes because we seem to have a nationwide problem with suicide especially among young people

I consider it clinical. Even if not, it's great service to others.

Fantastic experience to put on your med school application! It would go under volunteer activities. I strongly suggest talking about this experience in your personal statement. It's a unique volunteer position that not everyone has and you could potentially create a very meaningful and powerful personal statement out of it. Good luck! If you need/want more advice, feel free to PM me on IG (kristinakalilily). I'm a 4th year medical student.

Wow! This is a great experience and kudos to you! This will definitely look good for medical school applications, but more than that, you're helping out people who really need you!
If you can continue to expand on your interest in mental health, that would be great and make your medical school application stronger. For example, you can shadow psychiatrists or do mental health research.
