Let's all hope that Andy turns up on the special Vegas edition of Cops in a few months.

Sorry Andy, just kidding. Remember, don't have sex for drugs. Have sex for money that you use to purchase drugs.

This thread must be destroyed.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Did someone tell you to stop dancing, sweetheart? I didn't think so.

Here's the real reason Andy went to Vegas - a backup career in case he didn't match. This is from the current US News & World Report issue about the hottest jobs in America:

Entertainment

Casino "cage" worker

How hot: Americans are gambling more than ever, and casino construction is booming both in Las Vegas and at American Indian casinos. A handful of casinos under construction in Mississippi have posted hundreds of help-wanted ads on Casinocareers.com . But Michael Borden, marketing manager of the website, says there are plenty of applicants for glamorous jobs like poker dealer and big-tip jobs like waitress. Better odds can be had in the "cage," where cashiers turn gamblers' bills into chips and supervisors keep watch on the cash.

How to land the job: Cashiers need little more than a high school degree, a clean record (to pass a background check), and an ability to make change accurately and quickly. Anyone with college training in accounting and finance can try to work up to a supervisor's job. Cage managers usually need a college degree in business, finance, or accounting and at least five years' cage experience.

How much: Cashiers start out at $7 to $9 an hour. But managers can pull down $75,000 a year.

A bit of flaw in that logic geddy. I found out that I did match this past monday. If you were correct in guessing my motive in traveling to Vegas, I would have cancelled my trip, right?

My real goal in coming to Vegas, besides celebrating and being carefree, was to win a million dollars. That way I can buy instead of renting when I move to Boston. In addition, my fridge would always be stocked and you'd be moochin' off my ass after a hard day of work.

Andy you loser, you paid all that money to fly to Vegas to POST ON SDN??

Glad you're having a good time, dude!
I been gamblin all morning and afternoon. I'm needed a break and needed to unwind a bit after experiencing some good luck today.

I was thinking exactly the same thing

Though I must admit, if I were in Vegas, I would have to check in with SDN once in a while.

I am SO jealous of you being in Vegas, Andy!! Where are you staying? I have only been out there once - stayed at the Bellagio - it was truly one of the best times of my whole life. 👍

PS - Why is SDN running sooooooooo sloooooooooww today. It is driving me nuts. I actually am still just sitting here typing this because this page is still loading and I can't submit it yet. I am at work using a highspeed internet connection, too!

Yeah. I'm just surprised it hasn't gone down and stayed down under the combined forces of hundreds of visitors hitting Refresh on "Where did you match?" threads!

Non-refundable ticket? Seems that my mad inductive reasoning skills are off lately. I just thought that article was pretty funny, epecially where they describe "glamorous jobs" as poker dealers and big tip waitresses.

Gamble away! :luck: I don't want to hear some sob story about how you lost in Vegas to explain an empty fridge when I come to mooch. 😀

Oh my god, the board has been driving me crazy all day too! Not only because of the technical slowness of loading, but because nobody has been posting! I've been stuck inside with nothing to do! And just watch, now that my husband is home to keep me company, people will post here like crazy. I'm off cycle I guess.

It definitely has been slow in both respects. Last night I was anticipating a posting marathon and I think it the quietest night ever in the history of SDN path. I figured that everybody was out celebrating 🙂

😡 I've been afraid to look, but I originally thought it was slow b/c the other boards were posting like mad... specifically, ED. But, it has been maddening slow.

No worries - we continue to make impressive gains!

We're only 1755 posts behind EM - it is only a matter of time! 👍

Heh. Thought it was just my silly computer. Haven't logged on in a day and a half and now it's slow...

Vegas is fun. I have to go there again soon.

Isn't it funny that AM goes to Vegas and SDN goes down the $hi^^er at the same time??!?!??! Come on, pathologists, you have to know this is no coincidence!!!! So is he trying to prove we need him or something?

ps was very very proud to see he is off-line now....

Drink more, that might help.

Ugh, I can't sleep! The paint fumes are so bad, I had to open some windows, even though it's only 40 degrees here. The cats are happy at least.

I can't sleep either.

I decided to just stay up and start the day.

Well, you know when people have created two threads about you, you have made it. Congratulations, Andy. 🙂 😛

I count three (congrats, destroyed, and Vegas Life). Perhaps we should create an AndyM subforum.

That is just too funny

I call first dibs on moderating my own subforum though

Back to the original title of the thread...I feel absolutely destroyed from the weekend. The gonzo next to me...his head kept leaning over towards my shoulder and I kept yelling out, "Goddamn mid 40's year old man with thick glasses and stupid cap! Get yo damn head off my shoulder!"
