I'm thinking about using a few stories I have from high school for some secondaries I am doing. In particular, I want to write about the candid feedback and advice one of my high school teachers gave me after I submitted shoddy work for the first few assignments in his class. The advice he gave me was general and eye-opening and really lit a fire in me to do well and push the boundaries of my understanding. I've kept his words in the back of my head college as well. This is for Mt. Sinai's toughest feedback secondary. Would this be ok?

I think it would be OK in an essay. People write about childhood events all the time. Just don't put high school activities in your experiences section unless it was something truly extraordinary like winning the Intel ISEF award.
