I have a long commute and I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on the best anesthesia related audio to listen to during my drive.

I tried a search and found audio digest, openAnesthesia.org, and big blue audio. I'm a PGY1 so I'm trying to get down basic to moderate level information right now.

Any recommendations on free or paid audio I can download?

Thanks

During my prelim year I listened to mksap to get the IM basics down, thought it was worthwhile. I've tried listening to big blue but it's too focused purely on passing the boards so not an optimal way to learn the first time around imo

Audio Digest is pretty spendy for someone on a resident's salary. I use it now that I have a CME fund to pay for it (while pocketing the $1000 Apple gift card you get with the yearlong subscription), and it makes sense now that I actually need to accrue some CME. Now, if you can find an attending in your program who has a subscription and get them to loan you their Audio Digest CD's, that would be worthwhile. I have a stack of their CDs destined for the garbage because I use their iPhone app to listen to the lectures.

Otherwise I would go with the openanesthesia.org podcasts....the few I've listened to were pretty good. You just need to avoid the ones where the guest is only on to talk about some esoteric bit of research they are deep into.

Audio digest is expensive, but nice. I plan to continue intermittently getting it, but if I had a CME budget instead of it coming out of my own pocket I would probably get it every year.
