Are the angle ranking problems on the DAT comparable to the ones in topscore?? because the topscore ones seem really easy when i compare them to the sample dat on ADA.org... i mean i literally traced some of the angles exactly on the screen and put them up to the other angle and they were exactly the same (on ADA's practice DAT). Even the format of the tests are different, topscore's looks like a computer made the lines, where ADA's looks like a scanned version of a hand drawn test...

14/15 on topscore
8/15 on ADA.org sample test

any info from people who have taken the REAL DAT would be extremely appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!👍

So my question kinda got ran over by other threads.. could someone pleeeeeeeease just throw me a bone?

yea i read the angle ranking on the ada sample test is not at all like the real stuff u see on the exam. the ada sample questions have angles that look like they are less than 1 degree apart. they arent like that on the real thing

Thank you so much, now i can sleep tonight lol 😴

hmmm i still thought some of the angles on the real thing were like 1 degree apart. Not ALL of them though, thank god. still, wish I would have known how easy my practice stuff was so I could have better prepared. Sorry if I got you all nervous now

both topscore and kaplan ill prepared me for the Real DAT's angle ranking questions. i swear there were some angles that were identical. I finished the angle ranking feeling defeated. I still scored a 20 on PAT though so don't stress it too much. hole punching and pattern folding was a bit easier on the real DAT then both kaplans and topscores imho.

And topscore's jagged computer generated angles are not like the real DAT. They are smooth as if scanned.

I just finished the sample DAT on the ADA website. I got all the angle rankings one right from the Kaplan Diagnostic but the sample DAT angles were IMPOSSIBLE. I actually skipped more than half of them (still managed to get a 19 for the PAT!). I really hope it's not that hard

Me too, I felt the angles were too close!! any opinions on crack dat pat?? which would you feel is similar to the real exam??

The real DAT's angle ranking questions are the hardest questions to perfect. The trick is though not to spend too much time on them. They are very hard but DONT SKIP them. just pick the first answer that looks like it could be right and move on. Dont even come back to them later because your going to drive yourself crazy trying to determine a possible 1 deg difference. Save the time for pattern folding or going back and reviewing the ones that you CAN figure out. Like top front end or keyhole.

For those of you who want to do well on the PAT section of the real DAT.

USE CRACK DAT PAT.

Seriously. Almost all other study aids make them too easy. You need to practice going through angles that are ridiculously close and learn strategies to answer them. And for the other parts of the PAT, Crack DAT PAT is so similar to the real test. If you do well in the Crack DAT PAT, you are solid for the real thing.

Yes it's a bit expensive, but trust me it's all worth it. Just buy the 5 version test. It's all you need. And there is a Randomize function so it's like your getting more than 5 tests.
