Did anyone here spend time annotating stuff from uworld into crush or first aid or a book? I did it for step 1, and think that will probably waste valuable time while studying for step 2.

Annotate Uworld for step 2?

i did but it does take a lot of time as you are aware. it worked out well for me so i wouldnt call it a waste of time. the main thing is to make sure you do world and FA, whether you annotate FA or not is up to you
If you have time, I would annotate as much as you can. After a while, though, you don't need to because either you know it or it is a repeating concept.
If i had to do it again, I would use master the boards step2ck (by conrad, which is suppose to come out this month)or triage step 2ck and annotate it with world. And review secrets as much as you can.
If you can do world 2-3x and know most of what they teach in their questions you would do above average.

I used FA for both step 1 and step 2. I took FA to kinkos and had them cut off the binding and 3-hole punch it so I could put it into a binder. I added loose leaf paper in between pages to review concepts that I saw on USMLEworld that were not covered in FA (like all the causes of acute blindness). This worked out great for me both on step 1 and step 2. I also had crush step 2 and secrets. I barely used them because I thought they were aweful. FA all the way.

crush is much more superficial with FA having more minutiae
