anode- precipitation

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It would occur on the cathode, because that's where reduction occurs.

A+ + e- --> A....you can think of that as going from cation (dissolved in solution) to 'solid' (no longer an ion)

at the anode:

A ---> e- + A+...same way of thinking, it goes from 'solid' into solution

btw sangria1986, it is a precipitation reaction, it's just called plating in this case (correct if im wrong, internet...going off of 11th grade chemistry here)
