Looks like the mean SDN score is somewhere in the 240s, which is probably around the top 15th percentile nationally. Surprise?
Not particularly. SDN self selects like mad for people who test well. Everyone who got a score they wanted no matter where it is in comparison to the scores listed here, should be damn proud.

Wow, that really puts stuff in perspective come interview season. 😱Although I had a good idea on the rough percentiles for upper-tier scores, I don't think I ever really realized that in a given application year nearly 1500 people have 250-259 (to say nothing of the 300+ who score >260).
note also that people who didn't do as well aren't going to be hanging out in the step 1 forum giving advice after taking the test so there's another selection bias
