I just finished my test this morning. I was nervous when my QR was done, as I was waiting for my scores to appear. When I saw 20s...I smiled.
Scores:
PA 18
QR 22
RC 22
BIO 24
GC 18
OC 21
TS 20
AA 22
I can't complain, except gen chem, but it's still above average. I am happy about bio on the other hand. 24 is 99.1%.
I took kaplan about six months ago, and I walked out of the class feeling unprepared as I was walking in, although I didn't put any effort into kaplan due to my school classes. I was lazy and kept on pushing my test date back. I bought the destroyer in october and studied it for 2 months. For the last three weeks, I started studying more intensely. I called Dr. Romano and he went through each section with me, highlighting important questions and concepts. I started doing destroyer, and I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I forgot everything from bio, chem and orgo. I can blame last minute cramming for that, no retention of information. Destroyer taught me all the important concepts for gen chem, and orgo. If I didn't understand a question, I would refer to textbooks or search the net. I think destroyer is all you need for the bio section, and gen chem. For orgo, it would help to have an understanding before using destroyer, but you can still score high with just destroyer. I'm strong in verbal and math. I have always scored high on standardized tests, so I didn't study either of these. I just made sure to remember C to F conversion. I didn't study for PAT either.
When I went through bio, I would forget gen chem. When I did gen chem for a day, I would forget orgo... I was getting frustrated and I though I would do horrible on the test. That's the reason I kept pushing my test date back. I'm not very studious, my 3.3ish gpa reflects that. I am glad I found studentdoctor forums and decided to get the destroyer. There are skeptics, but I found no negative feedback from people who bought the book. It was my main study tool, and I'm happy with my scores. Now to go write my personal statement....I'm glad my state school doesn't use aadsas. I'll apply to a few other schools in addition, hopefully I get in somewhere. If not, I don't really care. I'll apply early next cycle. With a 22 AA, I'll get in somewhere. 🙂
