So I took the DAT last week, and am overall pleased with my results. Obviously PAT wasn't so hot, but I'm hoping everything I've heard is correct and UNC doesn't put too much weight on that score.

I studied with Kaplan blue book, and occasionally my gen chem and o chem texts. No TopScore, no Achiever, no Destroyer, etc (tried to find those but couldn't at local Barnes & Noble - I assume they are online). I found the real test to be much easier than any practice test I took. Biology was difficult for me because I've only had one general bio class (5 years ago) and I just didn't feel like memorizing the entire bio section of Kaplan. That said, if I had memorized everything in bio, I would have been fine (ie >20). Gen chem and o chem were pretty straightforward - no surprises and the math was not complex. For RC I mostly searched for answers without reading. I must say, though, that I lucked out because I only had 10 minutes left when I started on my final passage. Fortunately I knew the topic - so I wouldn't necessarily say that searching for answers is the best strategy. All depends on your passages. QR seemed very easy at the beginning, and then about 2/3 of the way through things got more difficult and I started getting low on time. Ended up having to blind guess on 6-7 ?s, and it showed in my score👎 . Lastly, PAT was rediculous. Keyholes are doable, orthographics I just suck at, angles are impossible, hole punch is doable, and by that time I had to fly through cubes and folding without much thought. Definitely got a case of the computer-eyes😱 after not too long...

Hope all this is helpful to some folks. Best of luck to all.
