Hey Fellow SDN'ers, I took the Dat this past morning, and wanted to share the experience as many of you kind people do as well.

my scores:

BIO:22
CHEM:21
OCHEM:18 (I really thought i got none wrong but who knows, i hardly got rxns)
PAT:18
RC:20
QR:18
AA:20
TS:20

I am satisfied with these considering i literally went to bed at 9 30 pm the night before, and couldnt fall asleep till 3, and woke up at 6 to write it at 7.

PAT: I started making my foldable ruler and box for it before the test and BAM! 1 second later the person in charge comes in and says you can't do that! I guess those cameras really zoom in! LOL So i cant do anything and am given a new sheet of untorn paper. Angles like ppl say are hard, i couldnt use the ruler, only educated guesses, foldings were hard but i practiced a lot, there were alot of strange folds but I use to teach orgamy so it was okay. Apertures were weird, I thought the right answers I put could still be wrong because of a certain mis match of length for certain sides, top front end was easy, cubes had a tricky one that if you didn't look at it right you would have screwed up, it was kind of like those weird ones that someone posted here a few weeks ago.

BIO-22:i am a bio major, former cmmb major, so the classification systems werent bad, and i had quite a few! a cephalization question, alot of genetics for some reason, all either theory or crosses, i think i had 8. all the other ones were easy as I took human anatamy already and learnt everything in much more detail

CHEM-21 I tutor in chemistry at the community center so this wasn't bad at all, I did do topscore, and i think topscore's gen chem is too easy to what i had today, i had to actually calculate stuff alot into numbers so keep your division and multiplication under fast conditions good. In terms of theory I had lots of questions on Volume, density, and the gases.

OCHEM-18 i dont know what happened- i was shocked when i saw this, cuz i breezed through this section, maybe thats why i screwed up, who knows. I hardly had rxns as i said, had alot of theory questions that i thought i knew but guess not.

RC-20-I had stocks, aging, meteorites, basically I had to read it, as I found doing the search method frustrating since some questions required you to read for it, and im not talking about the "tone, or inferred" questions but direct questions from the passage that can't just be found by looking for it because the author states it in a different way.

Math-18-I did not study for this until Fri, but it was not bad, I wanted to do better since I did get A's in both calculus classes but here of course there is no calculus. I had alot of word problems-10 or so, which took my time, i think i got them all but didnt get the easy ones in the end cuz the 45 min clock ran out..

Well here it is, i hope I get interviews with my 3.3 GPA...

gluck guys, msg me for any help, as I can now finally msg more on SDN cuz im done the dat! and it feels great =o)

p.S has anyone ever had their dat unofficial scores changed on their official? just wondering cuz my friend told me not to be happy until I am for sure of the scores, but i dont even know if i can find out whats on my official ones, will the dental schools tell me or even ada? Thanks guys

Jessica

Congrats Jessica, I also worried about the scores getting changed...I think there are probably far more productive things for both of us to worry about. 😀
