I'm not quite sure if this is appropriate to ask but I figured since it's sorta anonymous, I'd give it a shot.

For the grueling UC Davis secondary supplemental section, did anyone leave any of them blank? Since we can't double up and fill an extracurricular in twice, I had to leave one or two blank and just check "none" on them.

For some reason, I feel that it's prying too much, kinda like asking what someone got on their MCAT but I'd really appreciate some feedback. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that it's ok I haven't done everything...

Thanks!

I'm wondering the same thing. Let's give this thread a bump. BUMP

I had the same problem. Most of my volunteer work was in the clinical setting, so I couldn't write about it twice. I didn't want to leave anything blank either, so I wrote about some random volunteer work involving a car wash and working at an elementary school carnival. I certainly won't get in on the strength of this ground breaking work, but just try and find something helpful that you did. Its better than that white space staring you in the face

I am in a similar situation. My leadership experience is tied in with another extracurricular activity I mention elsewhere, so I can't "double dip" on that.

bump!

For clinical involvement and community service I wanted to double up and talk about an overlapping EC, but I couldn't so I wrote about a less-relevant community service. For Organized EC I didn't have any of the ones specifically listed, so I decided to write about a bioethics paper and conference I went to. Its a bit of a stretch that this is what they wanted, but I gambled that it would be better to put something down rather than nothing. For the other work exp. I put none for the hours b/c my work experience was more than 5 years ago (I graduated three years ago), but still wrote in the space about the work experience (and mentioned why I put none).

The purpose of the secondary is to give them more of an insight into you, so I don't think you'll be penalized by a liberal interpretation of the guidelines which leads to them having a clearer picture of who you are.
