If I want to ask my professors for a LOR for next year's cycle. Do I ask them to write it now and hold on to it until next May when aamc start accepting it?

My school has a service where they will hold onto a letter your professor sends, or you can have your professor send it to interfolio which will hold onto it for you.

I also asked my professors way ahead of time, I explained that it was not needed until Spring of the upcoming year but they are more than welcome to finish it ahead of time and send it to the address I gave them. Then in Februrary I sent reminder emails and everything came in on time.
