OK...I know there's a lot of these already but I need the help. I know I applied too late (September) and I should have applied to more schools (only applied to 2). I also know that I need to take the MCAT again (26). But the problem is if I take it again this year it will not be until August and this will put me back in the same situation as not having a complete application until September. Should I still apply again this year as early as possible but without the new MCAT score to more schools and see how it goes or...should I focus on improving my score and experiences, take the MCAT next April and apply for 2007. Would it look bad to not apply for 2006? Not sure what to do and starting to panic.

Options:

Take the August MCAT, and get a lab job or volunteer somewhere and apply next June.

OR

Get a medical related job/volunteer, take the April Mcat and apply in June.


Either way...

Get everything in early and apply to at least 10 schools!

you might not be interested but I applied to the new DO school in GA opening next year. I also got a rejection from MCG recently and I will probably go to the new school next year. you should look into it if you dont want to take mcat over. Their Mcat average will probably be between 24-26. just a thought.

I think that if you can improve your mcat to a 28 or above, you can still apply this summer and have your secondaries sent in before they get your aug scores ( if you have a good gpa). Applying in august is not horrible, but can be fatal for borderline applicants.

I interviewed at the GA DO school, PCOM-GA, and it seems really nice if you are interested

I'm not entirely sure about D.O. I know it will get you to the same place and I agree with the philosophy. I guess I'm still unfortunately stuck in that M.D. frame of mind like a lot of other people.
