I read another post and it kinda made me wonder...is SDN (or even the internet in general) the cause (or part of the cause) for statistical inflation of those accepted to d-school over the past x years?

My theory is that people come on here and see 3.9 GPAs and 25's on the DAT and think, oh crap my 3.4 aint cutting it (not that I have a 3.4 or anything, lol), and they work they're ass off to get to the 3.6. Enough people do this and the averages are going to rise. And although SDN represents a small population of people who actually apply, I think there are a good amount of lurkers out there that dont post. And even if its not on SDN, they can see on other places some of the numbers of people getting in.

feasible??

**im talkin strictly about the statistical stuff like GPA, DAT etc.

I think it is feasible-I think that is what helped me be more motivated to do well on the DAT-

Though I do not think it help me much in my grades

In general, I would guess that rising stats can be attributed to the increased competitiveness. Whether or not this has to do with SDN I have no idea. Personally, I didn't join this forum until after my app was in. As far as numbers are concerned, I just tried to do my best without worrying about what others were doing.
