Another Pre-Req Question

It's my first post on here, so go easy on me. I've searched around for the last few pages and I couldn't find an answer to my question so I thought I would post it here.

My Overall GPA is around a 3.3 and my science GPA is around a 3.0. I'm taking the DATs soon.

I only have 1 D on my transcript in Organic Chemistry I. I haven't had a chance to email all the schools I'm interested in to see if they take D's for pre-reqs.

So my question is, what dental schools out there, if any, will take D's for pre-reqs? From what people have been telling me, no medical or dental school will take D's for prereqs. I just wanted to get your input. I will end up taking this class over, but I just wanted to apply soon.

just take the class over. it's 1 class. it will make a huge difference in your choices. you still can apply and let them know you're re-taking the class.

I'd retake the class. Also, have you taken the DAT yet? You'll want to know Orgo 1 for the DAT, so retaking it also helps you beef up that way.

No schools will take a D grade for pre-reqs. And, honestly, you probably want to shoot for a B on pre-req classes. Either that, or rock the DAT.

Actually, not only should you definitely take the course again but you need to get an 'A' or an 'A-'. Not a B+, not a B.

If you can't get at least an A- by taking a pre-req twice, then you got a long road ahead of you. Plus your GPA isn't that hot anyhoo. Get an A!

Finally, as GavinC said, it will really help you on the DAT.
