hi,as silly as it may sound i had to ask this----most colleges ask for the toefl scores to be sent directly to them so if i am giving my toefl say in feb do i have to ask toefl to send the scores to the resp coleges even if i havent applied to the colleges as yet. 😕 just thought of getting toefl out of the way first.

No a bad idea. Get done with your TOEFL and then focus on other aspects. I would suggest that you shortlist some 4 colleges where you would definitely be applying. Send the scores to them. The rest you can send once you know your NBDE score.
