sorry if this sounds worst than the last one but can i put research down that I participated in as a participant by providing data and feedback? I did not conduct the research but I contributed to it

it's only like 10 hours worth though not too much.

*it was in the psychology dept mainly

I once filled out a survey, do you think I can put that as research experience? 🙄

And no, I would not include that. The adcoms are most likely going to ask you about your "research." When they do, they're going to know you're adding fluff which will call into question the rest of your application.

I think you are really stretching the concept of "research" here. That term, as considered by the ADCOMs, are really referring to lab research experience I am sure. If you really try hard to sell marketing stuff or non-science related pursuits as research, it might actually backfire on you because it will make you look desperate. Just my two cents.

dude...you don't have research experience, so stop coming up with stuff. unless you worked on a REAL project, and weren't just "helping out for a few hours", you don't have it. So half of my famly are scientists and I used to hang out at their jobs everyonce in a while and sure, I helped pipet a few things sometimes. But that's not research! It makes us people, that spend 20 hours a week in hour labs plus outside reading and presenting really ticked off.

Good luck this cycle 👍
