When entering your personal statement online how do you handle paragraph breaks so as not to take up so many characters but still provide separation? Just looking for suggestions on what worked best for you. Thanks!

The space counts as one character, there really isn't away to create the appearance of a paragraph without actually having a space in between. Remove one normal size word from your statement and you will be able to add a space in between each paragraph.

Do you mean a whole blank line (vertically) only counts as one space? Thanks!

Yes leave a whole blank line vertically it makes paragraph definition clear

I hit return twice at the end of my paragraphs to create a single blank line to separate paragraphs. This counted as two characters - one to finish the paragraph, and one to create a blank line.
