As always, when the question is specific to a single school it really does no good for us to speculate on what that school might or might not do--you just have to ask them.

They won't rescind your offer for asking for more aid. However, they may not be able to put together a new financial aid package in the next 8 hours. They may or may not give you more time to wait on PTE--and if they DON'T give you an extension, that may give you all the information you need about whether or not they really intend to (or are able to) make more aid available to you. But bottom line--you just need to get in contact with your top choice school today. Via email and, if possible, by phone.

While you await a response, you also need to decide for yourself in pretty quick order whether or not this scholarship from your 2nd choice is sufficient to make you choose that school over your number 1, or if you're just using this as a ploy to try and extract more money. If you WOULD truly attend your 2nd choice over your first choice, then you need to decide what amount of money your 1st choice would need to come up with to get you to change your mind back. The whole point here is simple--you don't have a lot of time to make a big decision, so you need to define for yourself what you're going to do in various scenarios so that you can act quickly once you receive more information.
