I was asked this at the end of an interview and was a bit surprised. I said something along the lines of "I'm ready, sure, committed, and more eager than ever to the path of medicine". What are they trying to get at with this question?

I feel like I would be tempted to say "You should tell them to accept me" idk if that's a big mistake tho

Interesting!
I was asked a similar (not identical ) question on one of my interviews. I said that the school was my top choice and that my activities, specifically x y and z , would align perfectly with their curriculum. My last statement was that I would work very hard to exceed any and all expectations placed upon me.
Ended up getting WL’d but then later accepted off the WL...

@Goro Any opinion?

Who knows! But I seriously, seriously doubt it was that answer to the question, which was pretty boilerplate.

So just to clarify, you are saying there is no real wrong or right answer to this question? Or are you saying that our answers are bad? Hopefully not the latter lol

boilerplate!?!
C’mon now, at least throw me a bone for thinking on my feet!?

I think the question is just designed to let you express something that maybe wasn’t covered in your interview questions.

To add on a different question, if you're asked what you'd do career-wise if you could never be a doctor, are they expecting a "PA/nurse/anything else to have patient contact in healthcare" type answer to check if you're dedicated to healthcare, or can you just answer a completely different career choice?

It's a common pre-med delusion (and there are aLOT of them!) that Adcoms want to hear a health care based answer.

What we want to hear is that you have a Plan B, whatever it is.
