I realize people may find me sick, but I'm interested in a strong transitional year program that will still give me time and balance to be able to read and sleep.
But are all transitional year programs considered bunk by academic physicians?
I didn't apply to UPenn's program because my personal life and situation won't allow me to be in Philly, but I do have an interview at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I had one at Georgetown but cancelled it because I can't do DC due also to personal life changes.
But I have prelim interviews also, in Boston/NYC/Chicago, and I'm wondering if those in the end are still more highly regarded than even MSK.
Thoughts? I'd like to get the best training possible but still want to sleep during PGY1!
