Hi! I'm TheOldGirl and this is my first post🙂

I'm 24. I went to a technical college on and off for 4 years where I earned a 2 year business degree. I am currently majoring in pre-pharmacy at a liberal arts college. I have now decided that I would rather be an M.D., but like I said I'm 24. I'm single and I have no kids, so are there any schools offering an accelerated (BS/MD) program that would at least consider me?

Most of those programs are geared towards high schoolers, so I don't think you would qualify for most. I think Temple might have a program that you can apply to during your freshman year, but I don't know how that will work with you being a transfer student. Just google bs/md programs and you'll come up with a lot of information.

Also, you're not that old. I have classmates who started med school at 35. You can afford to take the full 8 years, especially since you're already in school and I'm assuming you've probably taken a couple pre reqs.

If you want in, load up on classes and summer school and you could easily finish a degree in 3 years or less.

Not sure but I think they want high schoolers. It's worth calling programs in cities you like and asking.

Also, you don't major in Pre-pharmacy or Pre-medical. You major in English/Art/Biology etc.

I don't know of any accelerated programs, but if you go to one of these schools:

Clark/Atlanta University,
Morehouse College,
Spelman College,
Hampton University,
The University of the Virgin Islands,
North Carolina Central University,
Morgan State University,
Dillard University,
Tougaloo College and
Virginia Union University.
Pembroke State University in North Carolina,
University of the Incarnate Word in Texas, and the
University of Texas at El Paso

you qualify for EMSSP, which is an early acceptance program at BU. It's not accelerated, but at least if you get accepted you wont have to go through the whole application process and wont be in a situation were you have to take a gap year and you'll know where you are going.

I go to this program, you can find more info on the BU website or PM me.

You must go to one of those schools tho
