Any advice for ASDOH Interview?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
All I know is whatever information that is on the interview feedback page and on SDN 🙂 I've read that they have a manual dexterity test, some group activity regarding a presentation, and a panel interview. Some say it's brutal and stressful... while others thought it was relaxing. And based on statistics, an applicant who interviews has a 1 in 8 chance of being accepted? Regardless, I just scheduled mine today! 😀 Good luck!

Thanks.

I scheduled mine for Nov 15th.

most of the questions in the interview feedback section are BS. Nothing off the wall or weird. They hand you a card with 5 questions and tell you to answer them.

Does anyone know if Nov. 15 counts towards the Dec. 1 acceptances?
BTW, anybody have anything else to add? 🙂

Hey guys,
I have a few questions about the ASDOH interview. Mine is scheduled for October. My stats are NOT high but I have 800~ hours of community service serving underpriv. and homeless populations. Out of 16 schools, ASDOH is my only interview so far so I'm really getting nervous! Can anyone confirm that they hand you a notecard with 5 interview questions on it? Also, there are tons of posts on SDN stating they ask questions about geography and politics, true or false? The 1 in 8 interview/acceptance is constantly on my mind reminding me to do everything I can to prepare for this interview.

All questions are relevant. The era of geography/current events/pop-quiz trickery is over. 3-5 questions on a laminated sheet is the format. Showcase the side of you that pulled 800 hours of homeless/undeserved people and you'll be fine. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick response man. Now I can breathe knowing I don't need to read an atlas and study government before my interview. 👍

I thought the manual dexterity test wasn't actually a test, it was just part of a study?

It's all about dental humanity at ASDOH.

Say you want to meet Mother Theresa, be the Green Peace ship dentist, and things along those lines.

I see what youre saying, haha.. but I think they would spot that BS from a mile away. They have to be good at picking out the phonies.

Im scheduled for the 15th as well! Iv heard the interview is a pretty intense process there but im looking forward to it.. Do they really not like people with high stats??

My personal interview was a turnoff for me. There were two interviewers and they said they would ask me the questions that were on the card they handed me. This was worthless because they didn't give me time to read the questions AND the majority of my questions were not on the card. I also felt like they were trying to stress me out, and I felt like they wanted me to do poorly. This was my personal experience, there were several others in my interview batch that loved their interviewers.
