hey guys...

obviously im new here...i go to georgia tech and am graduating this year (5th year) with a biomedical engineering degree...i didn't plan on going to dental school until the past spring semester and so i took my dat's over the summer with scores of:

TS: 20
AA: 20
PA: 19

eh not so great compared to my practice exams but i can't really complain either..for some reason i was really nervous...my gpa is something like a 3.3 cumm and 3.25 science...whatever the case..i didn't get around to sending the AADSAS until maybe August 26, and schools didn't receive it until October 6. Along with this, my letters of recommendation were just sent out maybe 1-2 weeks ago. Here are the schools I applied to:

Boston University
University of Florida
Nova University
University of Tennessee
Meharry
Tufts University (not complete)
University of Illinois-Chicago
University of Louisville
Casewestern University
University of Alabama (not complete)
UPenn (not complete)
University of Maryland (not complete)

of the 12 schools i applied to, only 8 applications are completely done with all secondaries and letters of recommendation...so far i have gotten interviews to Nova and Boston University which I thought were pretty quick given my situation...can anyone offer advice on how my status is right now? i know im sorta late compared to most of the people who applied (i.e. summer)...and any info on what schools i still have the best shot at getting interviews at? My top picks are University of Tennessee and University of Florida (i'm a florida resident) but I heard that Tennessee is tough to get into from out of state and Florida has filled up most of their class? Thanks a lot guys.

I can tell you to don't bother hearing anything good from Case. As they already have all there interview spots filled.

you're considered a very late applicant. you're also an "average" applicant.

at this point, back-up schools are mostly done giving out interviews. your stats are not good enough to "wow" the more competitive schools. your best shot=your state school.

prepare yourself for disappointment though. it happens to the best.

i'm a similar applicant and this is my 2nd year applying.

good luck.

don't give up.

application time is very important, BUT people have done it before in your situatin.

haha well i guess i was expecting more encouraging news but it's never good to sugar coat it...i definitely know im in the late stages and im really hoping i can get maybe 1 or 2 more interviews given my "average" stats...anymore advice?

...Why didn't you apply to MCG?

^ ah i definitely would have but i'm a florida resident 😎 if i lived in georgia MCG might have been one of my top choices (i heard they accept hardly any out of staters)
