Hello everyone.

I realize this has been addressed before but my dilemma is quite specific.

I was under the impression that I could have 6 evaluators on VMCAS and then I could rate them and decide which ones I wanted to send (w/out reading them). But the school that I am applying to only reviews the 1st 3 that are completed. I have 3 veterinarians (2 I worked w/ for 2 years at same place, and 1 I worked w/ for the last year), 1 practice manager (worked under for 2 years), 1 chemistry professor (2 sem.), and a dean of counseling, advising who was my adviser 10 years ago in my undergrad and we have remained close ever since. So I have 6 to choose from and I really think they will all be great references. But I don't know how many should be vets or what variation I should choose. Also, how do I tell them not to finish the evaluation b/c I want someone else to do it?

Thanks so much!!!

If you're only applying to one place, and that one place only takes the first three, then there's absolutely no reason to have the other three write a LOR for you. They would be wasting their time.

Personally, I would choose the 3 vets, but really just pick the three you would want the school to read and go with that. For the others, just apologize for any inconvenience and say that you didn't realize that only 3 would count, so you just have to pick 3. I doubt they're going to get all offended about it.

I guess you could let them complete it anyway if you've already asked... but make sure that you don't have the 3 non-vets finish first... then you won't have a vet LOR and you'll be SOL, right?
