I will be graduating with my bach in May and still need org, inorganic and physics I was wondering if it is a good idea to do a masters online or just take the classes. I am also worried about the costs for the classes since I will need to start paying student loans. I have seen people talk about online classes and wanted some input.

Personally, I am not a big fan of online classes (especially those that require labs, such as chem and physics). Some med schools don't even accept online prereqs. I think if you take these classes at a local CC you should be just fine. And there is no need to get a masters if your GPA is good.

Thank you! I was not sure I could take them at a cc

You'll need to do some homework here. Some schools frown upon CC prereqs. It could be mentioned on their websites or in the MSAR. However, plenty of non-trads take classes at CC and get accepted. If you can't afford a 4-yr University, I think it's better to take classes at CC than online.

I am hoping I can take them at a cc since it will cost less I contacted one do school who said it was fine but I agree not every school will accept them. Thank you so much for the advice

Another idea is to just not apply for graduation yet. If you put off getting the diploma, you can continue taking courses where you are. So long as you've met all your major requirements and explain what you're doing to your advisor, they probably wouldn't require you to take anything else and you could just focus on the prereqs. If you did gen chem over the summer, you could do Orgo and physics in one year and then be finished.
This way you wouldn't have to worry about cc issues, though it might cost a little more (assuming you're at a 4-year now).

whats your major and what kind of school are u graduating from?

Looks like ur nowhere near being ready to apply to a masters in any kind of science field, and with the amount of courses you have left a masters in another field would be too costly of your time. You should do a postbac, looks like you've only done bio and that's the easiest one IMO, lol. Also, if you are trying to increase your credibility ur gonna have to be enrolled at respected institution, not just any random online program; the quality of institutions attended DOES matter, especially if youre coming from a comm. college type environment.

I am not trying to be negative or unsupportive im trying to help you by being realistic about what your future path holds if you want to make sure you can be competitive for DO schools . It looks like u might be getting a bit ahead of yourself; you cant even determine with any certainty at this point if you have the ability and/or the desire to apply to these programs, wait until you finish gen chem, ochem, some clinical-environment exposure, and some English/writing/composition courses. (Honestly, and I apologize for being brash, the language used in your posts is not flattering, and definitely sub-par. I realize its the internet and you might just be being lazy, but still its worrisome because language skills are important for healthcare fields.)

Good luck, hope Ive said at least one thing that's helpful 🙂

Med schools rarely care about graduate level coursework. Some might not fully appreciate online courses. Online masters coursework strikes me as doubly useless if the ultimate goal is to matriculate at a medical school.

I appreciate the feedback, I have two classes left for my degree and will be relocating to a new area I plan on taking classes at the university. I will look into a postbac program to see what classes they offer my problem was the cost of the programs.

Don't take a full post bacc program - too expensive. Just take the classes you need as a non-degree seeking student. Are you moving out of Alaska or just to a different city?

We are now in California and will relocating to Ft Bragg I have looked at taking classes at Methodist and I would love to do a postbac but it is expensive and I am not able to.
