I just got rejected from the hold list on sat (out of stater, aug mcat) so if you're still on it that means you probably still have a chance! Gluck

i remember an adcomm member coming on SDN and posting that they would be re-reviewing the people on the hold list in mid-december. so basically now.

Relax! I am currently typing up my second letter for them. It is going out today overnight. I am going to try my best. If it doesn't work I'll be out $13.65.

I sent in an updated letter along with a kidney last week...hopefully, they'll take that into consideration.

Sorry guys, for those of you who are still on hold, keep updating w/ letters. Hopefully you'll get interviews in January.

I got in... 😀 but my fiance is on hold. Damn... We're out of state and the in-state tuition after one year is something to salivate about, not to mention super affordable housing. 😛 😛 😛

We've bombarded them w/ e-mails, update letters to point of pestering. But I have a sinking feeling that I will spend my honeymoon in medschool, alone. 👎

Any letter will have more of an impact than no letter. (Does that look as awkward to anyone else as it does to me?) My point is that a letter can only help. If you need a reason to write it: you want to go there and you need an avenue to tell them.

Well, it's not an update if it has no reason. We've submitted additional LOR, updates on additional programs that we've completed.

Our next letter will be updates for Fall 2005 semester. (assumed that many will do this anyhow)

Then classes in progress for Spring 2006. Any additional programs we're going to participate in this winter break or next semester. You've got endless possibitlies.

All of them make an impact in that they show that we really, weally, weally, want to go to SUNY Upstate school (in case the admissions office is browsing) So bad that we are willing to do extra just to have an excuse to send them another update letter.

sorry i just lost my database containing all my med school status info...so I'm not sure of the exact dates. But they are definitely super fast with my app, must've REALLY hated me, hahhahaa.

I got in. Accepted. Will attend. Just hoping they take pity on both of us and consider my fiance with greater weight. I've heard that SUNY's make an effort not to separate husbands/wife teams, so hopefully their reputation will hold true in our case.

They put me on hold pretty fast too. But I am still waiting on the thin envelope. That's the only consolation about their school, they are efficient and very nice over the phone.

what kind of letters are you talking about? i am also on hold, aug mcat taker, and was complete in early nov.
