Any current med students returning from break in training? Advice for match?

I took a yearlong break for a similar reason (had to get my mind right following massive man drama), and share some of your concerns about applying for residencies. However, 1 year << 8 years. So, really, I have no advice for you, just empathy. Best of luck, I hope it works out for you. If your grades and step one were great, I don't see why time off would be a dealbreaker.
