Any dentist you know in Gainesville, Fl willing to be shadowed or assisted?

So I'm going to attend UF as a transfer this Fall and I'm hoping to find a friendly dentist out there in Gainesville that can let me shadow or assist them? Anyone that can inform me where I can find a friendly dentist that would be willing to be shadowed or assisted I would greatly appreciate it since i'm new to the area.

Congrats on becoming part of Gator Nation! Actually, I would recommend you to shadow at the Dental school. If you are going to apply there they will like that. You can help Dental students and also look at procedures. You can go here and fill out the paperwork to volunteer but make sure you do it early, there are not a lot of spots. Good luck!

This is good advice. I ended up shadowing a dentist in my hometown, but at one point I did call around in Gainesville looking for dentists to shadow and just about all of them were very receptive to it. I think they're used to students wanting to shadow and volunteer since it's a total college town. Good luck!

Were you able talk with the dentist on the phone when you first called in Gainesville? I was usually talking with the secretaries and not the dentists when I used to call in my hometown. They wanted to send along the message and not put me with them. I also hope I find a friendly dentist in Gainesville that can do me a LOR, the last one I was shadowing was pretty distant.
