I didn't take physio before Med School, but I did take cell bio and biochem graduate classes at MCV before med school. They taught a lot more detail than medical school did, plus the graduate exams were long answer (i.e. draw the pathway and name the enzymes with all negative and positive effectors) and the Med School exams are all multiple choice.
The physiology class first year is thorough, but succinct - I would venture to say that the graduate classes are probably much more detailed just based on time and also on the fact that they are directed at people who want to do research or go on to a PhD. Graduate phys will probably help you - biochem and cell bio helped me. 🙂
