Hey,

I wanted to know if anyone has ever used or are currently using kaplan's on demand video lectures to study and if they are any helpful or not for the sciences? It's an expensive course so I wanted some input on this.

I had it and I could see it being useful for some, but I personally got much much more use out of the Kaplan books and practice exams while just doing my own thing. I had a lot of time since I took a gap year, and I still felt the videos would become too time consuming. They're sometimes a little confusing too. The highest yield thing you can really do for MCAT prep is taking those practice tests and truly KNOW your basic sciences.

they're kinda helpful, but for the price i would just go back in time and stick with youtube videos. I liked the khan academy videos for sciences too plus theyre free

Actually I want to mention that KhanAcademy is a great site for actually TEACHING you the material. For example, he does a really good job teaching concepts like vapor pressure. I feel like the Kaplan ones don't quite do the same thing. Whether they are intended to serve as a replacement or equivalent to KhanAcademy, I have no idea. I still maintain using the books along with practice exams is the key. Tailor it to how you remember stuff best and get the content down cold, using videos if you have to.

this is true...khan academy is great for pounding in concept, kaplan does a better job teaching you some of the mcat specific "tricks", but that will only get you so far if you don't know content
