There are a lot of people on SDN that are kind enough to proof read your statement. And since they have gone through the process, their advice might even be better than some editing sites- not to mention that editing sites are really expensive.

Your school should have a writing center. They're very helpful.
My premed advisor was also very helpful in looking at my essay. I also asked my former English prof and TA to take a look at it.
