For sciences, or specifically lab sciences maybe. Either way they do recommend them in most contexts I believe, since it's nearly impossible to prove how rigorous they were.

Meaning take some higher level classes, maybe get some math done like a few statistics or probability classes.

You can find "easier" classes that also interest you, at your school.

Go to ratemyprofessors.com, campusbuddy and myedu (pickaprof). The latter 2 show grade distribution. Good luck.

It really depends on what your specific skill sets are. Obviously most intro classes are not too difficult (except for some of the weed outs).
