Hi all?
Anyone still waiting for a Creighton interview...should I just give up hope since their class isprobably full by now and they stop interviewing in March...how much notice do they give before interviewing???

They seem to give notice about 1 month in advance at least. If you still havent heard, why not call the office or at least send them a letter. If you call, they have all the info on a computer, and the office staff can quickly tell you if you may have missed a letter or something. 1.800.325.4405 is the number to call. also check previous threads for info: http://www.studentdoctor.net/bbs/Forum1/HTML/001444.html

Thanks for the input, docuw but...

Called Creighton today...the lady in charge of coordinating admissions said she had no clue if all the spots had been filled or if all the interview letters had been sent out...what kinfd of an answer is that???

She did say that all the interviews will be completed by the end of this month...

So I guess I don't have a shot in hell...

I just wish they wouldn't be so non-committal...

Thanks for the help, though...have a great day.

I guess I am surprised that she didnt look up your file at all. She gave you the general status of their interviews, but you should have gotten info on your file (eg: did the mailman loose one of my letters?)...

Sorry though.. keep your head up and keep smiling... good things are coming!

Creighton has a relatively small class of 110; commonly, 35 places are filled by Creighton undergraduates, 40 from other preferred schools; Which they are I do not know although your premedical advisor will know if your college is among the chosen few. That leaves about 35 places on the open market, so to speak. Their total applicant pool is in the range 5000-6000.
Unless your college is one of the select group, the odds seem to be against you.

Applicants are non-competitive if the GPA is below 3.5 or the MCAT scores total below 24.

Premedical committee letters are preferred.

IMMDTHE8THIAM,
I just thought I should add my two cents here. I received my interview invitation from Creighton Feb. 2. Interview dates of March 2, 9, 16, or 23 were listed. Unfortunately, it doesn't look good for an interview invite at this point, but who knows in this crazy process. I wasn't expecting an invite myself!
Good Luck!

gower...

According to them, they normally take between 20 and 65 Creighton students under the guarantee. Last year they took 66 Creighton students. This year, they are taking 53 Creighton students. They go on to say "How many seats are available for 'non-guarantee' applicants? The committee on admissions has been informed that it should recruit 62 entrants for the fall of 2001."

I have heard from others at a Catholic school that there is the preferred school program, but I cant confirm that based on any of the letters/literature/or info they told us at the interview.

Thanks for all the encouraging words. I'll just hope and pray for a miracle. Good luck to all of you in your medical careers...

I recently found out via e-mail that I could come for an interview. The e-mail was sent on 2/22 for the dates of 3/9, 3/16, 3/23 and 3/30. Maybe there's still some hope for you!
