ok so i was not such a great student in high school.. all i cared about was water polo/swimming and procrastinating was my thing. Now that I'm in undergrad(sophomore) and finally realized that i REALLY have to study, i try much harder than i did back in high school.

The problem is, I study about 5-6 hours straight at nights in the library but every time I do my head KILLS! like I feel like my brain is going to explode. Is this a normal thing? What do you guys do on your breaks? How many hours do you guys study a day? per week? What's your best strategy?

Depends on the test schedule.

I try to read the chapters or ppts that the teacher goes over..so an hour on a typical day...maybe 4 or more before tests.

haha yeah I did much better in college than high school too. I barely graduated in the top 10% in high school (ranked seventy something maybe), but graduated summa cum laude in college.

High school is a joke. In college, I studied a couple hours/night in years 1-3. In year 4, I barely studied at all again.

My head just stops understanding material after a few hours. Doesn't hurt. Just feels like it turns off.

Stay on top of material and it won't ever be that bad.

It really depends on the subject. I'm a sophomore as well who as taken mostly science/math classes so I can help you there. I find that I do really well if I do nothing but devote as many hours as you do to the subject. For example, for chemistry and math I will repeatedly do the problems until I literally know it backwards and forwards. Learn the in's and out's of the problem and keep re-doing them even if you are confident you know how to. Of course before you do the problems you're going to want to understand the concepts first.

Good luck.

has anyone ever had a teacher who just shook his head in shame when you asked a question because he thought it was a stupid question? everyone in my class is literally afraid to ask questions because the professor will either make you look stupid or just ignore you in front of everyone.😡 How do you deal with horrible professors? What if you had a professor that made no sense at all and tried to make you fail by tricking you on the tests?

thanks for all your answers btw 🙂

There are a lot of teachers that are douches out there. Some do it to get you riled up to study, some do it cause they're just douches. Either way work you ass of and find a different teacher to help you with the subject. My ochem teacher is really moody (great teacher though) that's why everyone knows to not ask her questions, we go to the other ochem teacher
